Grace's Sleeves  Grace's Collar

There's an end in sight for Grace, I believe! The sleeves have been blocked but I haven't cut the yarn in case I need to knit some additional rows. Twenty-two more rows for the collar and I can seam! Woohoo!

Do I show the mitten? Yep, it's just like the first pair. Only smaller. Yep, it's pink. And it's got a ribbed cable cuff. Yep, same pattern. No, I shouldn't. Hmm, maybe I should. No... Okay, here it is. Yep, boring! Let's move on...

scarf_ksh_01.jpg

I bought 2 balls of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in #589 Majestic. It's a very subtle grape color that my grandma would love. Except for my love of pink, I share the same fashion sense as her: simple lines, unusual but understated colors. I have a choice of 2 patterns with which to accommodate the 460 yards: a simple yo/skpo/k2tog pattern from Scarf Style, or the lace scarf pattern from the latest Rebecca (2nd from left). I'll probably start on it after finishing Grace.

Finally, this is for all the people who comment on blogs: thank you! It's good to come home after work to find that people find the time out of their day to say something to others. Encouragement, enabling, decisions, or just kind thoughts can make a person's day. I totally believe in the knitblog community, no matter how different we are from each other. Much thanks and appreciation to all.

Again?!?!?

Silly Sleeve

I know, you're tired of seeing the sleeve. Me too! I measured my favorite sweater's sleeve length, cuff width, and armhole width. Guess what? Its length is 19" (same as my projected length), cuff is 1/2" smaller, width is only a 1/2" smaller than Grace's. In other words, negligible difference. Maybe that ribbed cuff threw me off, it's so narrow. So I figured that Debbie Bliss must know what she's doing and continued with the decreases. Here she is 1 pattern repeat from casting off. I've actually finished it and am continuing on the second sleeve. I'm taking this puppy to work, determined to finish it by this Friday.

Natalie

Here's the promised picture of beautiful Natalie yarn. It's a thin strand with loops woven into it. Very nice stuff, Secret Pal! I may make a Latifa with this, using this instead of the Koigu. (I've narrowed down Secret Pal to 3 people and I'm very close to unmasking you! Heh heh!)

Speaking of Knitty, I think they did a great job of the fall issue. I wasn't thrilled with the summer issue (meh), but this one has some great projects, like Blaze, Giraffe, Clapotis, and Tigger. This article was also timely, as I'd been playing around with Grace's sleeve when I read it.

Also, the newest issue of Rebecca is out! Yay! I already know I'm getting this. I like their patterns, and their instructions are very clear. Anyone doing a knitalong from this magazine?
