Eye Candy Friday: Where the heart is
Thank you all for your comments on our wedding! I'm a little overwhelmed right now, but I really do appreciate all your kind wishes! BFF (no longer BF) and I are embarking on a new adventure, and, well, read on...

Topanga Canyon, 2003. An early, misty morning in May.
While not singularly remarkable, this picture has always been special to me. You know the feeling: when you capture that moment and something in you changes forever. For me, it started with a lump in my throat and became a pitter-patter in my chest. The instant before he turned to look for me, before I waved to get his attention, before I ran down to join him. I resolved to follow him wherever he would go.
Love takes you far.
Years later.
Far means Europe: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Slovenia, the whole continent.
Far means a year, maybe two years, perhaps for good.
Far means wandering. Mostly in search of the best rock climbing (of course). Immersing ourselves in different cultures, getting lost in ages-old cities, learning new languages (Spanish and Catalan for him, German for me), eating and drinking yummy new things. And, having a memorable time with the only person I'd ever think of wandering with.
By the time you read this, we'll have crossed over the Atlantic, on our whirlwind honeymoon/climbing adventures. We'll be without roots for a while, but with BFF I'll always be home.

Somehow I missed the previous post, but congratulations!!! It looks like you had a beautiful day. This post is lovely. I hope you and BFF enjoy your adventure.
i've been wondering how this week was going...jetlag and all. have fun "settling" in!
Delurking to say congrats! My husband and I are also climbers, and did a big climb for our honeymoon. You'll have the best time doing something you love together.
Gosh, I'm both happy for and slightly envious of you, but not in a mean way. I would love to have the confidence to start fresh abroad and to have the means to do so. It sounds amazing. Hopefully, you'll be sharing pictures and stories.
Congratulations. It's sad to know I won't be seeing you at a knit together for a long time, but I'll be happy knowing you are having an amazing time somewhere grand.
Absolutely magical! I raise my virtual glass in toast to your new adventures.
Sniff! MJ is gone. My heart sank a little on the 15th, when I knew you would be leaving. I'll miss knitting and spinning with you, but I am going to instead focus on savoring your travel photos...
Oh I miss you already! But I'm happy knowing you and BFF are off on your new adventure. Keep us updated!
I'll miss hearing from you and seeing your beautiful pictures and knitting. I hope you guys have a wonderful time in all your travels and I hope we can see some pictures every once in a while!
Buen viaje!
I'm so happy for you both. I've read o other blogs about your and BFF moving to Spain (Barcelona). I hope that your honeymoon/climbing adventure is wonderful and wish you well in your new life together. Best of luck to you and I hope that once you have settled a bit that we might get to see some wonderful photographs of your new adventures. Barcelona is one of my favorite places, just can't speak the language myself (Catalan), but so very beautiful there.
May your journey be everything you hope and more! Be safe and HAVE A BLAST!
I've been a mostly quiet reader, but a long-time one, so I'm not quite sure how I missed your last post - but a belated congratulations! I wish you much joy in all your new adventures.
I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon!
Congratulations! Have a wonderful trip :)
What a wonderful opportunity for you both. Enjoy and savor the moments!
What a touching post. Many congratulations!
I am so happy for you two. May the honeymoon's blissful kisses never end!!
Bunny hugs,

I'd completely missed out on the fact that you got married - CONGRATULATIONS!! It looks like it was a lovely and very special day.
All the best, and enjoy your honeymoon.

Hi MJ,
It's been too long since I've visited your blog since apparently, you've gone and gotten married and fled the continent. Good for you for following your heart and chasing your dreams. I wish you a lifetime of happiness together and congratulations!
can't wait to see the reviews of all the crags you're visiting on your trip.
