Monday Linky
◊ Seed Stitch Cheryl's pretty shawl made out of her own handspun laceweight singles had me drooling last week. I've decided to use my own handspun for a shawl too.
◊ Via Chez Pim's wonderful pictures of truffles in Lalbenque, France.
◊ And with more interest, the photo browsing mini app that allows you to embed your Flickr photo sets right into your blog post.
◊ I've had this link for over a year now and it's time to share. Flash and graphic designer Ferry Halim has created some of what I think are the most visually beautiful, cute, adorable, breathtaking games. They're all in here, his "Orisinal" page". You heard it here first.
◊ While I'm at it, more linky goodness with Ze Frank; I'll let you explore on your own! (But I'll give you this (and I have a feeling I've given this link before): neutered dog haiku.)
◊ Was anyone offended by Olive Hoover doing her pageant talent show act in Little Miss Sunshine? I may be beating a dead horse here. I'm just curious.
- Flint Knits Pamela has posted a thoughtful response to my question.
- Wikipedia's Little Miss Sunshine entry.
◊ Want something sobering? Things like this should never be just yesterday's news.

Yay! There's NOTHING like handspun yarn for a shawl, I've decided. Nothing has quite the same energy and drape.
i found that talent show scene in the movie Little Miss Sunshine really offensive. everyone says to me "Oh but its ironic". I understand that but it still made me sad and uncomfortable.
The little miss sunshine scene didn't bother me, but probably because it wasn't "real." I might have been bothered if the movie was less of a spoof.
The rape of that Iraqi child and the killing of her family was disgusting. I was particularly bothered that she was referred to as a woman in news reports. We are not talking about just rape and killing, but child molestation, rape and killing. It's despicable. I do not believe in the death penalty, but this is one of those crimes that can make that choice harder to stand by.
Thanks for all the great links -- I'm so excited about those Ferry Halim games!
And, okay, I wrote such a long response to the question about Little Miss Sunshine that I had to move it to my blog. (I didn't want to be the crazy ranter in the comments section.) :)
My 14 yr old son and I have been playing on Orisinal all day. FUN!!!
Isn't Orisinal just wonderful? Every time I go there I'm filled with glee! My favourite is Floats, the one where you circle the little bugs and make them into bigger ones. The music is so happy.
I wasn't so into the pageant scene in LMS. Because it was so near the near the end of the movie, I was left with a feeling of discontentment when it was all over.
