Bronchitis. Bed. Squares.
Thank you for your well wishes out there! It was good reading your comments but. I'm still sick. Yeppo, bronchitis. I caved and started taking more antibiotics.
It occurred to me, while in bed, that I should upgrade my cms. I'm still at 2.661 and Movable Type is now at 3.32.
It occurred to me, while in bed, that I should update my blog design. I was never fully satisfied with it in the first place (you got your graphic designer talking here), and an upgrade and update double-header would be something I can do while propped up on pillows.
It also occurred to me, while in bed, that sewing a four-patch of squares would take less than a minute with a sewing machine.

This took me half an hour by hand. By fricking hand. Fifteen minutes to join two sets of two squares, another fifteen minutes to join the two sets, shriek obscenities at the crooked lines (quarter-inch seam my ass), mismatching intersection (somehow, the idea of pinning never crept into my mind), ripping, resewing, and pressing the thing flat. Now I have to sew it to the sashing (pretty cream fabric on the left), but I'm sooo tried right now! When I cough I feel like my lungs are being ripped apart. Uuuuuhhhhhhhh!
To think I have 48 more squares left.

Feel better! I'm amazed you're even thinking about doing that much while so sick!
feel better!! The squares you've sewn so far look great - I know how hard sewing straight is!!
I hope you feel better soon. Those fabric prints are beautiful together
Hope you feel better soon. At least you can be productive while you're at home. Quilting ain't easy. Sometimes it's damn stressful. At least you have pretty fabric to look at =)
Nooooo! Brochitis is the worst! :( You're the busiest sick person I know- I hope you're getting some rest, too! Ttake care of yourself!
PS: Quilting is fun, right? I made a few baby quilts, but I haven't sewn any in quite a few years...I love that fabrics you're using!

I hope you feel better soon, MJ! Your fabric is pretty. I think sewing is a lot of work and isn't exactly relaxing, and maybe being sick isn't helping matters. I find that the 1/4" seam foot helps a lot. Take care!
Bless your heart - drink lots of water and try not to cough - that just makes your throat more sore.
Feel better! It sounds like you're getting a lot of...thinking...done.
I'm still on an old Movable Type, too. It works fine and I'm not good with change.
I hope you feel better really fast. And yes, quilting is addictive. Now I know where to send some fabric.....
I hate bronchitis! I hope you feel better soon!
bronchitis! yikes. take good care of yourself!
those fabrics are gorgeous. and so lovely together.
Feel Better, Happy holidays to you and your family.
Hope you got some good rest over the holiday weekend!
What a great choice of fabric - your first quilt will look SO much better than mine. Have you got a 1/4in foot for your sewing machine? That helps a lot with seams. And if you press the seams on each pair up on one, down on the other, you can butt them up when you sew the pairs into fours - just pin the seam join, you can hold the rest with your fingers and save pinning it. All the best (I haven't cut into my Belle fabrics yet).
