The Pinkness of it all
My apologies for the longer silences here at Yummy Yarn. I've been preoccupied and sometimes it's an effort to think of something to write about. But. The blog must be fed and groomed once a week, so here's this week's post.

I've been spinning. Yummy Pink (and green, and white) Clun/Cormo mix that I've drafted in strips or spun from the fold, for random variegation. I've so far gotten a fairly consistent single, referring to my sample quite often. I think I've got enough fiber to fill 2 more bobbins. The fiber is so soft and springy, unbelievably so. I need more of this stuff!

The yarn order included 2 balls (or should I call them 2 donut thingies) of Pink superwash yarn for a baby sweater, which I knit up in two days. More on that later. Oh yeah, I went to the library. More books! Thanks for reminding me about Philippa Gregory, Rose!
Blogworthy: Results of the May 1st reboot are up. In case you're interested. It's all Flash work. I'm of two minds regarding Flash; perhaps it's because I'm old school and learned the finer points and subtleties of print, which I see is sometimes lacking in web. On the other hand, some of it's cool, and not Flash for the sake of being Flash, but actually lends itself to the concept. Anyway, I've found a really great site I'll share later on (I gotta keep it to myself first!).

oh perty colors
Beautiful spinning! Love it!
Very nice spinning. I have yet to try spinning from the fold although I keep meaning to.
i love the colors, very pretty.... i find it hard sometimes to get the energy to blog... i am procrastinating now! :)
Nice looking singles! I like the colorway too.
Holy Cow...What a big pile of books you have! I just finished "The Queen's Fool," and it was pretty good. I read it right after I watched "Elizabeth," so I imagined the characters in the book looking just like Cate Blanchett and Joe Fiennes. Ha!
Beautiful stuff.
Is that the sweater from LMKG?
Love the colors - gorgeous!
Oooh - I see you have The Last Kingdom - have you read it yet? What do you think? Did you read the Archer's series? I have to say - I do like his books - nice level of historical detail, and he does bring the characters to life.
Pretty spun yarn!
Beautiful sweater that you are knitting. I love the colors and the yarn looks so soft and squishy. Yummy!
The handspun is quite pretty and the random variegation looks like it will turn out beautifully.
Nice looking singles. What's the plying plan?
Beautiful yarn! It looks good enough to eat. ;-)
Are you keeping this as a single or will you ply it?
