Sad.
It has been a little difficult the last few weeks; two of our family friends passed away. One of them had known me since I was 3 years old, the other was my niece's grandfather. Children are precious, but please hold your elders close to your heart too.
Not surprisingly, I haven't been in the mood to knit lately. I did, however, find a pattern that I instantly liked: Liberty from Rowan/RY Classic's Classic Cafe. I like the combination of soft orange, green, and blue-grey, with the cable detail. I really, really like this pattern. I may actually break my promise not to have a yarn stash and buy up some CashSoft and CashCotton!
Updated my Links section. I've discovered more knitters(!) in L.A.(!) Hello, meetup!

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent losses. (((hugs)))
My condolences MJ :(
Hope you're feeling better...
Sorry to hear your sad news. Take care of yourself and knit when you want to.
I'm sorry for your losses, MJ. You are so right about not forgetting our elders. Take good care. The urge to knit will come back in due time, I'm sure!
My thoughts are with you as you go through this rough time. Indulge yourself with memories and take the time to hold everyone close. *hug*
Sorry to hear about your loss.
I contacted Jimmy Beans and they have one last skein left. I really appreciate you offering. I hope Jimmy Beans comes through. Otherwise, I will be contacting you.

I found a free pattern for Liberty through someone's blog, I forgot which. Go through the V& A website.

Ooh, I found the link through her blog!
I am so sorry to hear of the losses you have recently suffered. I lost my husband to cancer two years ago and it still seems like yesterday.
I love, love, love your blog. I hope one day to knit with the quality of workmanship that you do. I am a new knitter and self taught, so I hope that you can help me. I bought the same yarn (1 skein) that you did your Clapotis in except my colorway is Lagoon. I read your post about running out of yarn and having to change the pattern because of this. I am lost though, and wonder if you could explain it in new knitter, dummy terms? I so want to do the Clapotis, but only have the 1 skein and don't want to mess it up. Can you help when you have time to recoup?
Thank you.

So sorry for the loss of your family friends... There are times to knit and there are times we need to take a break. I hope you feel better soon. Know that the knitters are there for you!
I'm sorry to hear of the loss. Your words about cherishing your elders are so true...so true. Take care.
oh, i'm so sorry ~ it's hard indeed to see older generations leave us and you're absolutely right about them being just as precious as children. in our society, the elderly are often forgotton -- but it sounds like you didn't.
thanks for linking me - and yes, meetup absoultely !
MJ, I'm very sorry to hear of your recent losses. Such a hard thing to deal with. I can understand that you don't feel like knitting. Don't do it unless you feel like it and just take your time grieving. Many {{{{{hugs}}}} and take care of yourself.
Sorry to hear about your losses. Hoping that you are coping OK. Wishing you a peaceful heart through your greaving process.
