Anyone seen this?

Rowan has published a third brochure of their Rowan Classic Collection, Classic Holiday. You can see the patterns here and here. I like the Sun Skirt (if it was just below the knee so I wouldn't appear too vertically compressed), Holiday, and Carnival. They're all beautiful patterns but for some reason I'm not really into them. Ponchos and bags are not my thing, and the rest are fine, but not spectacular. Of all the spring/summer pattern magazines (online and offline) to come out so far, I like the latest Rebecca and Interweave Knits best.

Most of it is crochet, no? The swirly shawl looks cool but if it's crochet there is no way I'm going near it.

That swirly shawl is to die for.

Heidi d'Absinthe Knits posted a photo of the swirly shawl, and I looked at the link and meh. So much boring crochet. These granny square made tops are (imo) icky and and ribbed halters...Who needs a pattern for that? Plus, the pattern/pic makes her boobs look wall-eyed. I still love that swirly shawl though, but like Jessica, if it's crochet, fugheddit.
(p.s. I'm reserving judgement on battle royale 'til I check out the manga. I finished the book, and I liked the concept, but I was kind of put off by the writing style. I will blame a clumsy translator, 'cuz that's the easy out, eh?)

I have that book too. However, most of them are crochet patterns which is beyond my ability.

Hmm, can't say I'm blown away by them. I think 'jacuzzi' and the spiral shawl appeal to me most - both crochet, I think? Personally, I don't mind crochet, as long as the project's right for it... {ducks}

I agree with you -- they are pretty but just not me.

Hello MJ! I saw these patterns, and I really like that skirt too... however, I know nothing about crochet! I would love to learn though!

Hope all is well! :) How is the German?

your blog is soo pretty :) glad you posted on mine so i could find you! from your description of the kim site in the previous post i wonder if you are a designer yourself? you don't hear too many people talking about fonts that way ;)

and like all those who commented, i too love the swirlyness but if it is crochet, well then i won't be doing it.

happy day to you!
