Bah, humbug

My computer is misbehaving. Two days ago I woke up to find the Mac version of the blue screen of death on my monitor. Since then I've run Norton and re-installed OS X about 10 times, and still when I login all I get is a login progress bar that just keeps running. The good thing is, OS 9 still works, so tonight I'm going to archive about 30 gigs of stuff and wipe the system. Pray for me, I have a few freelance deadlines to make.

Knitting: I'm almost finished with the Boring Cable Scarf. BF tried it on and made a face, so I threatened to choke him with it if he said it was scratchy. He selected the yarn himself, the poopie. My Gran's Kidsilk Haze stole is growing slowly. The ice age will have come and gone by the time I finish it. Anita, the doughnut is still the same size! Grr. I've got a few more hats to knit but these don't have to make the holiday deadline. Then I'm going to swatch for my cable sweater. Yay!

Spinning: Many thanks to all who've commented on my first skein. I finished spinning the rest of the fiber a few nights ago. It's resting on the spindle for now. Pictures to come if and when the computer decides to take pity on me and stops acting up.

Reading: The Deep End of the Ocean by Jacquelyn Mitchard, Hands on Spinning by Lee Raven, the spec sheet for the potential new member of the family.
