A List for 2004
For the next week or so I'll be doing everything but blogging: eating, drinking, knitting, spinning, eating, drinking, climbing, bike riding, eating, drinking.... you get the picture. So I'll close out 2004 early with a list of things, for lack of a better word, that were of significance to me. Happy holidays; be safe. See you all in 2005!
Knitting, spinning, and knitblogging
Hello, Susan Bates #7s and Bernat Baby Soft! My first finished object, a pink cable scarf, is still my favorite knit accessory to wear. I bought a spindle and fiber kit off eBay out of curiosity, made a God-awful skein, and now I want a wheel! (horrors, I just know someone's going to enable me...) As for knitblogging, I've been a semi-active blogger for the past couple of years but I had no idea there was such a thing as knitblogging until earlier this year. I am honored to be part of the knitblog community.
Digital Karma
In the span of 48 hours I crashed my computer, missed 3 important deadlines, got gifted with an iPod (courtesy of the office white elephant gift exchange/party and a fantastic co-worker), got a bargain repair on the computer, and got some free system updates. Thank you, karmic deities!
The Dodgers Game
A memorable birthday gift for big sister MJ#1.
Weekend at the Bacara Resort
Two words: complementary massage. And more: if I ever stumble upon a bagful of money on the street, I will definitely hold the wedding here! Of course, we could also elope and use the money for yarn... Hee hee!
Hailey Paige
My niece, I would do anything for her.
Climbing Half Dome
My first trad climb.
Fear Fester, 5.11c
One of our climbing trips this year was to Maple Canyon in central Utah during Memorial Day. I onsighted a 5.11c, Fear Fester. I had dislocated my elbow in a climbing-related accident (a bouldering competition) the previous December. To recover and reclaim this level in 6 short months is one of my proudest accomplishments this year.
Three Years
With the best partner I've had.
Now that the compoopter's fine, I can download pictures! Next post will be image-heavy, fer sure!

Happy Holidays MJ! Here's to eating, drinking, knitting....! See you in 2005.
