Grace's Sleeve

This is one of Grace's sleeves. At 9" I have about 18 more increases to go, which makes it into a sleeve worthy of gigantor-forearmed sailors. Sorry, it's just not me. So this weekend I'll be ripping back 5" of cables and reconfiguring the increases, as well as the armhole length on the body pieces. I read somewhere to use a favorite, well-fitting jacket or sweater to base the measurements off of, so I'll be doing reknitting for the remainder of the weekend.

Work has been busy so knitting has been minimal and blogging even less. I know I have to update my links list. And I want to try some new backgrounds for the blog. It will probably take me 2-3 weeks to get used to a full-time schedule again, having freelanced for close to 2 years. *sigh*

Oh, wait! I just picked up the mail and guess what was there! Yummy yarn from my Secret Pal! Two lovely balls of Adrienne Vittadini Natalie in a winey red called Jewel (Professionally style artsy photo to come). So pretty! I think it's time to for an easy winter knit, so I'll be making a scarf out of this. Thanks Secret Pal! Hope you had a lazy Labor Day!

Looks like you will be busy with all that frogging! The cable sure looks beautiful, but you wantt o make sure it will fit! :) Good luck with the new work arrangement!

I'm sorry that the pattern hasn't worked out - the cables do look gorgeous. Good luck with re-sizing! Hope that you soon get used to being full-time, change is always unsettling. Any time for lunchtime/ travelling knitting?!

Bummer about the sleeves! And it looks so pretty. I freelance now, and I don't know what I would do if I had to go back to work full time. I would be so exhausted! Hang in there.

I am glad that you liked it!
I thought it was sort of a fun yarn for a scarf or a hat trim.

Grace sure is pretty. I bet she'll be worth the hassle. Reminds me of last Fall when I did a pink cabled DB sweater. "Memories, light the cobwebs of my mind . . ." :)

A little gift is coming your way :)
I am about to leave town but I will send something else when I get back!

What, you don't wanna wear Popeye sleeves? Your cabling is just gorgeous. When I *ahem* start to do cables, I want to grow up to do them as good as you.
