Grace

Aah, Grace, how I adore thee! I had been thinking of knitting this lovely confection ever since I saw Debbie Bliss' Cotton Angora at the LYS a couple of months ago. Back then, cables seemed so complicated. Today? I can watch Lance demolish the competition* at the Tour and still do those c4bs and c4fs no problem! My thanks to Wendy for her cabling without a cable needle tip! I also found another tip by Becky on starching cables, which I'll keep in mind a year later when I've finished this! I'm using Lion Brand's Cotton Ease in #101 Strawberry Cream; the Cotton Angora I horded from the LYS is being reserved for Katy. I'm up to the shoulder shaping at this point, and hopefully I'll finish the back by Friday or Saturday.

(just cycling content for mad cycling fan knitters. I'll understand if you leave...)

* Okay, I was rooting for Jan Ullrich (of the pink-uniformed T-Mobile team) this year, as he's come so close in the past years to winning le maillot jaune. It looked like he had a good chance with Andreas Klöden and Alexander Vinokourov on his team, but Klöden needs a little more experience, and Vino is out due to injuries. Jan doesn't have the type of support that Lance does, and that is a key factor in races like this. Jan is not in the best shape this year, or not motivated, or what, I don't know. Could've, would've, should've, didn't. Oh well. I have to admit that Lance is doing a phenomenal job; he didn't show the signs of weakness like last year, and he wants this so badly, you have to admire his determination. So, great going Lance and the Posties!

Grace looks GORGEOUS. I never would have dreamed that the Cotton Ease would knit up in cables so beautifully and perfectly! I might have to copy you! As for Lance, the guy is obnoxious, but I do admire his hill-riding skills! And what is this about Lance and Sheryl Crow?!? That kind of freaks me out.

Both of those Cotton Angora sweaters look gorgeous. I can't wait to see them both knit up. Beautiful work.

What a beautiful shade of pink! Cables are so nicely executed, too. Grace is going to be beautiful.

Mariko, it would be great if you did this with me; we'd have a Grace-Along (or a Cotton Angora-along, although I'd have to wait until I knit Katy). As for Lance and Sheryl, eeeewwww. But I guess it's LOVE! :-)

Grace looks beautiful. I wanted to do that pattern also but I got jipped on ebay. 16 balls of debbie bliss cotton angora yarn payed for and never recieved. It figures when I finally spend alot of money on yarn I never get it. Good luck, and happy knitting.

Confection is the right word for it! It looks good enough to eat. Lance and Sheryl Crow?! what's going on??

Yeah, Mariko, I'm in agreement, the sheryl crow thing is icky and he is a jackass. But since the French spat at him for winning, I'm all "go Lance".

MJ-once again you are looking fantastic! Sarah C at Knitting Etc. is doing Grace now, too-check her out, I seem to remember a Grace along, too.

Anita: Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow have been dating for some time; a very unlikely couple but like I said, it must be true love!

Jen: I checked out Sarah C BUT it was Grace from Knitty :-( So many projects with the same names!
