Perfect for summer

I finished the tank! I realized it's *very* white, but then again it will work with everything in my closet. This weekend I blocked and seamed it, and crocheted the straps to desired length after trying it on. I made it shorter than the pattern specs because I have a short torso, and of course I got rid of the top border fluff.

I'm learning as I go with knitting, things like m1, skpo, and k2tog. Since I already know how to knit cables, it's good to add something new to my repertoire with every piece I knit. Here's a close-up of the armhole shaping, a tip I got from Miss Skinny Rabbit on making rounded necklines, which I applied to the armholes. This is a great way of avoiding the staircase look:

Lastly, I know this may be old news to some. Antoine de Saint-Éxupery, author of The Little Prince (one of my favorite books) was in the news recently: wreckage of his plane was found off the coast of Marseille, France. He'd disappeared on a solo flight taking photos of southern France for the war effort, and no one knew what happened. So at least we know of his disappearance. The cause is still a mystery. I watched a movie adaptation of it when I was little, and recently my boyfriend's mom gave the book as a birthday gift. Ah, it took me back to my childhood.

Love the tank - it looks really great. I love white on dark skin. I always wear white if I have a good tan going. I am also a fan of The Little Prince and heard of de Saint Expupery's plane being found. He was my favorite author when I was young. I find it a strangely fitting way to go (if one has to)....
